Angela Torres, philologist and secondary school language teacher. A passionate clubber and DJ , she devotes her free time to cultural activism and electronic music. She has co-founded and leads Comissió Nocturna de Barcelona.
Abstract
Barcelona is per se a mediterranean city both geographically and sociologically . Mild<br />
winters and hot summers favor life in the street. Our cuisine, architecture and events also<br />
welcome visitors from all over the world all year round which has its positive and negative<br />
side.<br />
Barcelona was once the nocturnal capital, which we remember with nostalgia, as<br />
everything has changed so much and so fast, especially after the pandemic. Residents have<br />
become over-sensitive to the nuisance.<br />
Barcelona is "de-mediterraneanizing".The municipality wants to project a pristine image of<br />
the city ,mistakenly enforcing restrictive policies .Yet,the local council has created the Taula<br />
Ciutadana to work all together towards a better Barcelona by night.
